Before any of the rest of it, he was a young man building his own house. Millard Fillmore raised this cottage in 1826 and lived in it until 1830. The 13th president's home became a National Historic Landmark in 1974 and a museum in 1975.

Moved twice and lovingly preserved, the 13th president's home became a National Historic Landmark in 1974 and has been a house museum since 1975.
